world's fastest 90 year old

I overheard a funny sound bit this morning on the dagis drop off run. The exact bit I heard was, "Såg du den killen som just sprang förbi? Han är världens snabbast 90-åring." (Did you see that guy that just ran by? He's the world's fastest 90 year old.)

El senior speedy was nowhere to be seen so evidently he must be rather spry.

At first it just amused me thinking that there can't be much competition and how fast do you really need to run to beat him. But it struck me that while there may not be a big pool to compete with; at 90 he and other 90-year olds are competing.

There's an AMF TV commercial currently running. The "star" is an active member of our skydiving club. I don't know how old he is, but he's late 70s at youngest. It warms me to know that age isn't the same barrier it is perceived as.

I'm hardly the world's fastest 38-year old. But maybe when the competition thins around 90 I'll run a race.
