drop zone: basketball court
On Saturday I landed on the basketball court beside the clubhouse at Gryttjom. It was my second jump of the year, my 17th landing over all.
I seem to be a bad judge of forward flight. I kept estimating my landing spot just ahead of me...until it was nearly in the woods.
I landed a bit roughly, scraped up my right ring fingers on the little knuckle, bruised my left knee and took a shot at my pride. Other than that I made it intact.
The funniest part was the look on the faces of the workers on the sewage system just 10 meters from me. They didn't look particularly surprised, but a bit annoyed that I landed so close to where they were working. They barely raised an eyebrow beyond that. I don't think they understood the implications of such a bad landing.
Jenny R. had a little "talk" with me on Sunday. She was responsible for Rookie weekend. She mapped out my goal for my jumps that day were to land better...touché.
I still owe a case for that landing.
