glögg

Glögg is spiced, sweetened wine served warm with almonds and raisins. Your first every season is delicious. It brings you to the Christmas season via the scent and taste senses. It's cozy, yummy and festive. Christmas is coming.

Your seventh and your seventeenth glögg are not as delighful. The heavily sweetened wine overwhelms the senses and a sip is in order for the sake of holiday protocol. Any glögg over twenty in the season is a chore.

But. The festivity around attending a glögg party is wonderful. The formality is reduced to drinking a few sips of sticky wine, eat some good safran buns (no number is too high) and chat with other guests.
