field of blue

My favorite grassy hill will be in full blue bloom within the week. I just past it today in the mist and gloom of a miserable day. But seeing the blue flowers, and I have no clue what they are called in English, nearly at their peak made me shine.

Every year I've seen these tiny plants spread just a bit more thickly on this slope. They nearly cover all the available grass area today. I can't wait for a sunny day, the right timing and having my camera.

I'll post the picture if I capture it.

Seeing this annual return of beauty warms me up inside.

sounds of ice

Ice formed on the water in Årstaviken last night. When I was dropping off my bean at dagis today I heard the tinging of the broken cover as the waves bobbed the surface.

As a large shipped passed the ice sounded like birds chirping. All around it sounded like spring. Ironic that it's the ice that contributed most to the ambiance.

Thepeacefull harmony of water surrounding my daily life will be sorely missed.

feeling maudlin

Ever since our impulse purchase of a piece of property to build a house, I've been a bit depressed over my impending departure from living inomtullarna --within the city the limits of Stockholm.

The spring is definitely upon us. The sand is being swept away from bike paths and sidewalks, the snow has gone, even the puddles are clearing up. Today was a glorious day. It wasn't warm, but the sun shining gave the feeling it was time to pull out shorts and teeshirts.

Boating season is under way too. Our boat club has posted nattvakt--night watch lists and sjösättning dates -- time to put the boats back in the water.

To add to my reflection of our move, I contemplate, "What will come of our Ruby?" and I realize in my sadness that we'll most likely have to sell her.

we're landowners

Holy crap. Talk about impulse shopping. We bought a property and now we have to build a house.
